Is fractional microneedling effective?
Yes, fractional microneedling is a highly effective treatment. It can treat a wide range of skin problems: fine wrinkles, loss of radiance, acne scars, dilated pores, slight sagging, pigmentation spots.
By stimulating fibroblasts, it boosts natural collagen production and visibly improves skin quality. A healthy-glow effect can be seen from the very first session, but the clearest results appear after 3 to 4 weeks. For a lasting effect, a course of 4 to 6 sessions spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart is recommended.
What are the effects of fractional microneedling on the skin?
Fractional microneedling improves the overall appearance of the skin. It refines skin texture,
tightens pores, diminishes fine lines, scars and blemishes. It restoresradiance and promotes firmer, smoother, more even skin.
Thanks to collagen stimulation, the skin is gradually regenerated, with a natural tightening effect. Suitable for mature skin as well as young skin prone to acne or irregularities.
What are the risks of fractional microneedling?
Fractional microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that is well tolerated when performed by a qualified professional. Side effects are slight: redness, heating,
microbleeding or temporary scabbing may appear. These effects usually disappear
within 24 to 72 hours.
There is a very slight risk of infection or scarring if post-treatment care is not followed. It is therefore essential to avoid exposure to the sun, not to touch the skin, and to follow the recommendations given after the session.
How does the skin look after fractional microneedling?
Immediately after treatment, the skin is red, sensitive and slightly swollen,
as after a sunburn. This reaction is completely normal and shows that the
regeneration is underway. Over the following 24 to 48 hours, small scabs or peeling may appear, depending on the intensity of the treatment.
Skin generally returns to normal in 2 to 4 days. It then becomes visibly brighter, clearer and softer.
Can I wear make-up after fractional microneedling?
We recommend waiting at least 24 to 48 hours before applying make-up after a fractional microneedling session. The skin is fragile and needs to breathe to
heal properly.
Applying make-up too soon can lead to irritation, pimples or infection. After two days, you can use light, non-comedogenic make-up. Choose mineral products and avoid thick foundations.
When should I wash my face after fractional microneedling?
It is recommended not to wash the face for the first 12 hours following the
session. After this time, use a mild cleanser, without perfume or alcohol, to avoid
aggressing the skin. Avoidhot water, scrubs and exfoliating treatments for at least
a week.
Good hygiene is essential to avoid infection and optimize healing.
When do we see the effects of fractional microneedling?
The first effects of fractional microneedling can usually be seen 4 to 7 days after the session, with a brighter complexion and smoother skin. However, the collagen regeneration process takes time. The most visible results appear progressively between the 3rd and 4th week.
For optimum results, several sessions spaced a few weeks apart are required. Effects continue to improve for several months after the last session.
How much does a fractional microneedling session cost?
The cost of a fractional microneedling session varies according to the area treated, the level of intensity and the practitioner’s expertise. In Belgium, the average cost of a session is between €150 and €250. Some high-end clinics offer combined treatments (microneedling + LED or specific active ingredients) at slightly higher rates.
Packages are often offered for a complete cure, with sliding-scale rates per number of sessions.
