Sculpt your body with EMS

The Esthe Shape device used at Novaskin Clinic combines 2 advanced technologies for high-quality body contouring.

On the one hand, electro-muscular stimulation (EMS) provokes muscle contractions. They have a direct impact on increasing muscle mass while strengthening and toning your body.

On the other hand, radiofrequency targets and acts on fat so that it is consumed and eliminated by your muscles during the session. radiofrequency targets localized fat, destroying it by thermolysis. This non-invasive approach reduces cellulite and refines the silhouette.

By also improving venous and lymphatic circulation, radiofrequency improves tissue firmness and therefore rejuvenates the skin. ESTHE SHAPE EMS RF allows you to sculpt your body and achieve visible results without surgery or prolonged recovery time.

Is electrostimulation effective?

Muscle electrostimulation (EMS) can be effective for certain specific objectives. Here are some of the potential benefits of EMS:

  • Muscle strengthening: EMS provokes intense, sustained muscle contractions. This technique strengthens the muscles, improving muscular strength and resistance. Targeted EMS sessions are ideal for preparing for a major physical effort such as a marathon or sports competition.
  • Body toning: By targeting specific muscles, EMS tones and sculpts your body, particularly in areas difficult to reach with traditional exercise. Examples include the reduction of a complex fat fold in the abdomen or saddlebags.
  • Rehabilitation and recovery: In many cases, EMS can be used in rehabilitation programs to help strengthen muscles after injury or surgery.
  • Complementing exercise: For some people, EMS can be a useful complement to regular physical exercise. This helps to improve results in specific targeted muscle groups.
  • Buttock lift: Aimed at giving a more rounded shape to the buttock muscles, this practice helps to reduce fat and cellulite. Radiofrequency EMS also provides better support for the buttocks. The gain in muscle fibers makes this area of the body more plump, shapely and toned.

Nevertheless, it’s important to note that the effectiveness of EMS can vary from person to person. Results depend on a number of factors, including the frequency and intensity of sessions, regularity of training, diet and lifestyle quality. In clinical tests, we observed a 25% increase in muscle mass and a reduction of up to 30% in fat mass after 6 sessions.

EMS does not replace an active lifestyle with a balanced diet. It’s an additional tool that can be used in addition to an exercise program. It’s the best way to achieve your fitness goals.

Why electrostimulation?

EMS Radiofrequency is a non-surgical procedure designed to strengthen and tone muscles and reduce body fat in targeted areas.

This is made possible by the combined use of two technologies: EMS (HIFEM muscle electrostimulation) and radiofrequency.

  • Muscle strengthening: EMS uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic fields to stimulate intense muscle contractions, enabling muscles to be strengthened more rapidly than during traditional physical exercise.
  • Body toning: By targeting specific areas such as the abdomen, buttocks, arms, calves or thighs, radiofrequency EMS helps tone and sculpt the body. This improves the overall appearance of your silhouette.
  • Fat reduction: Radiofrequency combined with EMS generates controlled heat to target fat cells in the treated area. These are then better consumed by your muscles. The result is less body fat, less cellulite and a more refined silhouette.
  • Non-invasive: EMS is a non-invasive procedure that does not require anesthesia or significant recovery time, unlike surgical procedures such as liposuction. Results are visible within a few weeks, particularly after the 6th session.

Novaskin Clinic recommends that you consult a qualified professional to determine if EMS with radiofrequency is right for your needs and goals.

Each person is different, and an individual assessment is necessary to obtain the right recommendations to achieve the desired results.

Who can use electrostimulation?

EMS (electromagnetic stimulation) is globally accessible to all. However, this practice must be supervised by a professional.

At Novaskin Clinic, an expert ensures that your physical condition and medical situation are compatible with a tailor-made EMS program.

Here are a few things to bear in mind before choosing EMS:

  • Healthy adults: Men and women can generally benefit from EMS sessions. However, it is essential to consult a qualified practitioner to assess whether EMS is suitable for your physical condition and medical situation.
  • Fitness seekers: EMS can be used by people who want to improve their physical condition, tone their muscles and achieve their fitness goals.
  • People looking to sculpt their body: EMS is often used by those looking to sculpt specific areas of the body such as abs, glutes, arms, etc.
  • Athletes: Some professional and amateur athletes use EMS to complement their training and improve their sporting performance.

It is important to note that certain pre-existing medical conditions, such as muscular disorders, heart problems, metal prostheses, copper IUDs, electronic implants, etc., may constitute contraindications to the use of EMS.

How does an electrostimulation session work?

First of all, each EMS session generally takes 30 minutes.

You are comfortably seated on a treatment table. The practitioner places the EMS RF applicator on a targeted area of your body, such as the abdomen, buttocks, arms, calves or thighs.

Once the Esthe Shape machine has been set up, the applicator will use high-intensity focused electromagnetic fields (HIFEM) to stimulate deep muscle contractions in the targeted area. These contractions are much more intense than those you could generate during a classic sport.

In fact, during each session, we count an average of 20,000 to 30,000 supra-contractions. Supra contractions are medically assisted contractions.

During the session, you feel powerful muscle contractions. Note that the procedure is generally very well tolerated by most patients. The duration of each session may vary according to the specific treatment and the area targeted. It generally lasts around 30 minutes per zone.

Note that our Esthe Shape machine is equipped to treat 2 areas at the same time.

Several sessions over several weeks are recommended for best results. Your EMS RF practitioner will advise you on the number of sessions you need per week, depending on your personal goals.

How often should I use electrostimulation?

The frequency of EMS sessions may vary according to your personal goals, your current physical condition and the recommendations of your Novaskin Clinic EMS practitioner.

In general, for optimum results, a series of regular weekly sessions is recommended.

For muscle strengthening and toning, it’s usual to start with a series of 6 to 8 sessions spread over 2 to 3 weeks. After this initial phase, maintenance sessions can be scheduled to maintain the results obtained, at a minimum of one session every month.

For body fat reduction, EMS with radiofrequency may require a slightly different protocol. In fact, a series of close sessions may be recommended, followed by at least 1 session per month.

At Novaskin Clinic, your EMS practitioner will work with you to draw up a treatment plan tailored to your needs. He details his precise recommendations for achieving your fitness or body contouring goals.

How much does an EMS session cost?

At Novaskin Clinic, the price of an EMS session can vary from €68 to €99 per session.

We also offer tailor-made packages of several sessions, enabling you to reduce the cost per session.

For more information on our packages, see our rates page.

What are the effects of electrostimulation on the human body?

The Esthe Shape machine emits focused electromagnetic waves that target motor nerve cells. They directly stimulate muscle contraction.

Unlike conventional electrostimulation devices, electromagnetic waves generate intense muscular contractions known as “supramaximal“. These waves pass through the body non-invasively, interacting with the motoneurons (motor nerves) that conduct the nerve impulses required for movement.

The muscle work (expansion + contraction) induced by electromagnetic waves will increase the number of muscle fibers produced. The muscle will then grow to become denser and more curvaceous. Energy penetrating deep muscle tissue activates targeted muscles.

Their contraction increases blood flow, which in turn burns the calories needed to keep muscles working during exercise. During the 30-minute treatment, the muscle contracts between 20,000 and 30,000 times with high frequency and intensity. Muscle contraction requires a great deal of energy, which is drawn directly from the body’s natural reserves.

These are made up of body fat located in the adipose tissue of the hypodermis. Radiofrequency activates the natural phenomenon of lipolysis in the human body, which acts on the structure of fat cells. These will be transformed to be more easily drawn and consumed by the muscles in action.

At the same time, the action of electromagnetic waves generates micro-trauma within muscle fibers, prompting them to repair themselves by producing new myofibrils. (main unit of muscle fibers)

This technique firms, refines the body and strengthens muscles. Results can be felt as early as the day after the first session.

What are the risks of electrostimulation?

EMS is generally considered a safe procedure when used correctly. However, as with any intervention or technology, there are potential risks to consider:

  • Skin irritation: Some people may experience mild skin irritation after EMS sessions, but this is usually temporary and fades very quickly.
  • Muscle pain: Since EMS involves intense muscle contractions, some people may experience slight muscle pain after the session. Novaskin Clinic advises you to stay well hydrated after your Ems session. (2l of water)
  • Medical contraindications: EMS is contraindicated in the case of heart problems, muscular disorders, metal prostheses, copper IUDs, electronic implants, etc.
  • Pregnancy: EMS is generally not recommended for pregnant women, as the potential effects on the fetus are not fully understood.
  • Non-treatable areas: pectoral and dorsal muscles, due to risk of heart attack.
